This sandstone cottage at 8 De Villiers Street was originally built for Dr. Anthonie Gysbert Viljoen in 1908, but was sold a year later to Christman Joel Krige. Krige stayed longer, and eventually sold it to the Mission Institute of the Moravian Church in 1926. It was then taken over by the Moravian Mission Society of South Africa in 1964. The cottage was therefore used as a holiday home for missionaries from 1926 to 1978. It was sold in 1978 to Mora Georgina Kruger and finally to Mrs Glenda Pope in July 1981. She runs an art gallery and coffee shop from there and regularly holds exhibitions by local artists.
